Eline is one of our senior naturalists and research coordinators, having first joined the team in 2019. She got her BSc Biology in England with study abroad in Australia, MSc Marine Biology in Netherlands and has worked as a research assistant to study bottlenose dolphins in Australia and at Elding for her master's thesis, and then as a research supervisor at a marine mammal conservation NGO in Greece before coming back to Elding full-time.
Working at Elding involves getting to see whales and dolphins against the beautiful backdrop of the Icelandic landscape while meeting ocean-enthusiasts from around the world every day, so really it’s hard to think of a better dream job. Alongside all the fun stuff, I also deeply value the more serious aspect of my role as a guide and research coordinator: advocating for conservation and gathering data so that we can better understand and protect Iceland’s marine mammals.
Eline's nationality is Dutch/Icelandic and she speaks fluent Dutch, Icelandic, English as well as conversational French and German.
