  • NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Clear skies in the bay as we left the harbour, ready for an evening at sea. On our way out, we even spotted a humpback whale at sea, as we were waiting to see if the northern lights would show up! Unfortunately, they decided not to appear tonight, and we gave our passengers complimentary tickets so everyone can try their luck again.

With calm seas and another beautiful sunrise, we departed the harbour for our morning tour. Around 30 minutes in to the tour, we spotted our first humpback whale of the tour! Of course, it was Banana, our regular humpback! In the afternoon, we had clear blue skies and a cold northerly wind, and headed out again to find our favourite humpback whale again, sleeping at the surface. Another brilliant day in Faxaflói bay!

With a Kp Index of 3/9 and partially clouded skies forecast, we headed out full of hope into the bay. After waiting patiently, the gaps in the clouds started to increase, but unfortunately no lights were seen. Passengers were given complimentary tickets to try again on another tour!

A cold morning but we were excited to go out again after some windy weather. On our morning tour, we spotted 5 harbour porpoises, and then spotted one of our resident humpback whales! In the afternoon, the sea conditions remained good and we came across both of our usual humpback whales, as well as 4 harbour porpoises. A great day at sea!
