- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
Tonight we sailed out under clear skies, with stars shining bright. Faint northern lights soon started forming above us and through the night, we could see them grow in strength. As we headed back home they were appearing in all shapes and colours!
The morning tour had encounters with minke whales and a small pod of harbour porpoises, but sadly the afternoon tour did not see any larger cetaceans despite our best efforts. As both tours did not meet our expectations, complimentary tickets were issued to all so our guests can return for another chance to see the incredible wildlife of Faxaflói bay.
We enjoyed a lively day at sea with all four of our common cetaceans making an appearance. Playful white-beaked dolphins, elusive harbour porpoises, and curious minke whales kept us entertained, while several humpback whales treated us to fluke dives, close passes, and even spectacular surface activity. A fantastic day of variety, energy, and memorable sightings.

We sailed through light drizzle out onto calm waters and briefly saw the northern lights appear above us. As the sighting was so short lived however, we decided to hand out complimentary tickets, so our passengers could try again later.

The night started off great, with very nice northern lights from the get go, but they faded as we sailed ahead. While the Icelandic clouds were unforgiving for the rest of the night, we were glad we had such a great sighting at the start of the tour.
Today we enjoyed calm to smooth seas with sightings of all four common species - minke whales, harbour porpoises, white-beaked dolphins and multiple humpback whales. We were treated to feeding frenzies with bubble-netting, lunge feeding, and even spectacular breaches, tail slaps and pec slaps. A truly lively day in the bay with close encounters!

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to cancel the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
Today we were treated to wonderful conditions in Faxaflói bay, with calm seas, clear skies and excellent visibility. Across the tours we saw large groups of harbour porpoises, many minke whales, very playful white-beaked dolphins and several humpback whales, some even breaching out of the water. Another amazing day in fantastic Reykjavík!

We headed out with a good forecast, but the auroras struggled to break through the clouds. They only appeared faintly from time to time, so we issued complimentary tickets to give our guests another chance to enjoy them another night.
Today we enjoyed calm seas and sunny skies with great sightings of minke whales, some even curiously circling the boat. We were also treated to views of harbour porpoises and soaring seabirds along the coast. The afternoon brought more minke whale encounters before unfavourable weather conditions forced us to cancel the last tour of the day.

The weather conditions were nice, and we had a beautiful view of the moon and stars. However, after almost 2 hours of search, we had no luck. All our guests were offered complimentary tickets for a change to experience the auroras another time.

Guests were treated to close approaches, fluke dives, and surface activity, making for two memorable trips in Faxaflói Bay. The last tour of the day was unfortunately cancelled.
