- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
We headed out into the bay with high hopes, but unfortunately the auroras were shy tonight, so the only thing we saw were stars and Venus. Once the tour came to an end, we issued complimentary tickets to our patient guests.
This morning we headed to the same place we found a whale yesterday and we got lucky again! We saw lots of northern gannets diving, and soon enough, 3 lunge feeding humpback whales surfaced (one of which was Pongo)! The afternoon saw the same 3 humpback whales, still feeding really close to shore! What a great day at sea!

It was cloudier than expected, but we had a good view of Jupiter, Mars, and Venus. Suddenly, the entire boat gasped and pointed to the sky - the northern lights had appeared and were dancing above us in vivid green and pink swirls!
In the morning we saw plunge diving northern gannets and a few grey seals feeding on their scraps. Not long after, we had found a humpback whale - it was our friend Pongo! In the afternoon we found a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins and 2 harbour porpoises, however due to the quick sightings we issued complimentary tickets.

This morning it was overcast and windy with some rain. We again made our way towards Hafnarfjörður where we found a pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins and a humpback whale. In the afternoon we sailed to the back to the same area where one of our passengers spotted the humpback whale we saw in the morning, lunge feeding!

We set sails to Hafnarfjörður this morning, which has been a hot spot for wildlife lately. There, we finally caught a glimpse of a feeding humpback whale - then out of nowhere, a HUGE breach! On the way back, we even saw another humpback whale! In the afternoon we soon found 2 humpback whales - one of which was our friend Pongo!
We headed towards Hafnarfjörður under sun, snow and hail. When we arrived to our destination, we came across a feeding and rolling humpback whale, about 20-25 harbour porpoises and many feeding seabirds. In the afternoon we found the same humpback whale again, where it was surfacing quite a lot and showing us it's fluke.

Whist we were still in the harbour we could see a number of planets, but unfortunately the clouds never really parted and we saw no auroras. Such a shame - but we issued complimentary tickets so that everyone can return!

We headed out with mostly clear skies and could see several constellations as well as Venus and Saturn. We managed to see faint northern lights on our way back home, but decided to issue complimentary tickets to all passengers.
This morning we headed out for the first time since the big storm - it was warm but windy as we headed towards Hafnarfjörður, where we found a humpback whale!
