It was a cold October morning as we headed to the islands where we had seen wildlife yesterday. We soon found a very cute little harbour seal who briefly checked us out before we found the same pair of humpback whales from the day before. In the afternoon, we again found the pair of humpback whales from this morning that were logging and fluke diving.
We didn't have to travel far at all this morning, as we spotted 2-3 minke whales right outside the harbour walls, a pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises nearby and 2 humpback whales near Viðey island! In the afternoon we found the 2 humpback whales and the 2 minke whales from the morning tour! All in all, a great day spotting wildlife so very near the city!

We started off by passing by the coastline of Reykjavík and viewed the Imagine Peace Tower while we waited for the lights to come out! Soon enough, there were very faint northern lights on the top of Esja that only got stronger and stronger!

Tonight we had completely clear skies and as soon as we left the city lights behind us, we saw our first northern lights! They were shining bright and stretched out over the sea. As we were gazing at the auroras, we also saw a few meteors shooting by!
We had strong wind blowing this morning so luckily we didn't have to sail far out of the harbour when we spotted a pair of humpback whales and a fast minke whale in the distance. The wind had dropped as we sailed back out in the afternoon and we soon found the 2 humpback whales and the minke whale from this morning. What a great day, and so close to shore!

It was gloriously cold and sunny morning in the bay! Only 15 minutes after leaving the harbour we found a sneaky minke whale that came quite close to the boat and we managed to get a few pictures with Hallgrímskirkja church in the background. We stayed until our time ran out and eventually headed home. All other tours were cancelled today due to weather.

We had barely left the harbour when we could make out a big band of northern lights across the sky. They changed rapidly and eventually grew even bigger. Adding to the magic tonight was a meteor shower, allowing the few of us to make out some shooting stars!
We spotted a minke whale just as we were leaving the harbour this morning. It was actively feeding on the surface and lead us around in circles. After a while, we even found a second one! The wind had picked up quite a bit in the afternoon, but we were soon able to find the 2 minke whales again as well as 2 humpback whales swimming close together!

We had a typical Icelandic autumn weather this morning with lots of rain. After sailing a bit, we spotted 2 playful humpback whales swimming, rolling and showing off their pectoral fins alongside about 10 white-beaked dolphins. In the afternoon we found the pair of humpback whales again this time breaching, pec- and tail-slapping all over the place!

We had calm seas and bright skies with wonderful sightings of minke whales and playful white-beaked dolphins throughout the morning. The dolphins showed off with bow-riding and full jumps while the minkes surfaced close to the boat. The afternoon brought calm conditions and friendly minkes feeding near the islands.

We sailed through thick fog that soon cleared to reveal starry skies and a breathtaking display of northern lights. The auroras began faintly before growing stronger, filling the sky with vivid greens and purples that reflected beautifully on the ocean.
We had a day full of activity across all tours, featuring minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and a fast travelling humpback whale. The morning brought great variety before fog set in, while the afternoon cleared to calm seas and close sightings right near Reykjavík - a lively and memorable day on the bay!
