Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 1PM Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Our tour today was off to a good start: we hadn´t even been sailing for one minute (we were still inside the harbour), when we saw a harbour seal very close to our boat. Taking this as a good sign, we left the harbour in search of more marine mammals. The day was beautiful, with bright sunshine, little wind, and clear orange and blue skies. We admired the landscape while we searched for a dorsal fin, a blow, splashes, and flocks of birds, and the overalls and hot drinks kept us warm. There were not many birds around, but a few groups of great cormorants. Of course we also searched for cetaceans, going very far out into the bay and scanning as many areas as we could. We found 4-5 harbour porpoises swimming in a group, but other than that we did not see any cetaceans. We therefore offered our passengers complimentary tickets to visit us again to see more of the wildlife that Faxaflói has to offer.
