This morning we spotted harbour porpoises, a lunge feeding minke whale, and a pair of humpback whales including Birdie. In the afternoon the same humpback whale pair delighted us in synchronicity, suddenly appearing right in front of us, almost within touching distance! We were then delighted with spectacular pectoral slaps and close views!

We encountered 2 minke whales close to Viðey island this morning, but sightings were short lived, so complimentary tickets were issued. In the afternoon we were luckier with two feeding minke whales, including close encounters near the harbour, with Reykjavík as a backdrop. The last tour of the day ended up being cancelled due to worsening weather.

The first tour of the day was cancelled due to weather, but we headed out in the afternoon and saw minke whales by the islands as well as 2 feeding humpback whales, surfacing close and blowing bubbles. In the evening, we were rewarded with more humpback whale encounters (one of which was Bubbles), and some energetic white-beaked dolphins!

Today the air was chilly but the sea was calm and the sun bright - perfect conditions for whale watching in Reykjavík. In total we saw about 5 minke whales and 6-7 slow swimming white beaked dolphins. We also managed to see a humpback whale at one point but it was not in a social mood. The last tour of the day was cancelled due to unfavourable weather.

  • NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

The sea was calm and the sky was starry. We sailed behind the nearby islands and turn off the engines to enjoy the surroundings. After a while we started seeing northern lights activity above Mt Esja with the naked eye. A wonderful evening at sea!

We went out at 13:00 during a break in between rough weather. We quickly found a minke whale and got the opportunity for some pictures. We went on and saw blows of 2 humpback whales in the distance and were able to spend some time with them as the showed us some fluke dives. All other tours today were cancelled due to unfavourable weather at sea.
