Our morning started with sunny skies and a slight breeze. We saw 2 minke whales and then a humpback whale, all feeding in the same area! The weather improved dramatically from the morning, and in the afternoon we found 2 minke whales, 2 humpback whales and a pod of 10 white-beaked dolphins, that joined the action.
This morning we sailed out in typical Icelandic weather. After a while, we spotted a blow of a humpback whale. We also saw splashes of white-beaked dolphins and 2 minke whales. Finally, we found a second humpback whale close to our boat! The afternoon tour unfortunately had no luck and offered all passengers complimentary tickets.
We sailed out in the wind and found 2 fast minke whales close to shore this morning. Sadly, they didn't reappear. In the afternoon, the sun came out and the wind decreased. It took a while, but we finally found a minke whale. Due to the very brief sightings, both tours issued complimentary tickets for a chance to try again another day!
We encountered 3 minke whales this morning and later another set of minke whales as well as 6 white-beaked dolphins. We set off under grey clouds this afternoon and came across an elusive minke whale and 5 white-beaked dolphins including a calf, but we decided to offer complimentary tickets due to the difficult sightings.
As soon as we left this morning we found a minke whale! Later we spotted it again with a second minke whale that came right up to the boat, and it even started to blow bubbles. In the afternoon we found a friendly minke whale! We also found a pod of relaxed and playful 9 white-beaked dolphins and then a second minke whale!
Shortly after departure this morning, we were rewarded with a large pod of harbour porpoises, right outside the harbour. We then found 3 minke whales before it was time to head back! In the afternoon we found a total of 1 minke whale, two pods of lively 5-7 white-beaked dolphins and finally 2 quick moving humpback whales!
What a great day in our beautiful bay! Not long after leaving the harbour this morning, we saw a minke whale and a small pod of white-beaked dolphins! In the afternoon we again found a pod of white-beaked dolphins, 2 minke whales and a humpback whale, but due to the short lived sightings, we offered everyone complimentary tickets.
The ocean was incredibly calm and there was no wind - what a glorious day to go whale watching! In the morning we found pods of 7-20 white-beaked dolphins and we also spotted 10 minke whales. In the afternoon we again found a few pods of white-beaked dolphins, about 5-6 minke whales all close together and 2 humpback whales.
This morning we sailed into the bay and found no wildlife.. we started handing out complimentary tickets when we finally spotted a feeding minke whale! In the afternoon we found the feeding minke whale again! It was lunge feeding and would occasionally show some curiosity and come closer so we could have a better look!
This morning we sailed out of Reykjavík with clear skies, sun and calm sea. Right out of the harbour we spotted a pod of white-beaked dolphins and then we spotted a blow from a humpback whale. The sun was still out in the afternoon, but the wind had picked up a bit. We found about 25-30 very lively white-beaked dolphins!
This morning we found a couple of pods of white-beaked dolphins, a humpback whale we were able to spend some time with, and eventually a glimpse of a minke whale on our side as well! In the afternoon we found a minke whale and then a humpback whale that surfaced multiple times and even showed us its beautiful fluke!
