Under calm seas and sunny skies, we had fantastic encounters with harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, and plenty of minke whales. Several humpback whales were also seen throughout the day, showing fluke dives, feeding, and even breaching, while gannets plunged all around. An excellent day at sea with all four of our common species spotted!

The weather was great tonight, with almost no wind and calm seas. We had to wait patiently but after some time the northern lights appeared! A very broad band of bright lights appeared perfectly in the center of a gap in the clouds!

Today’s tours were blessed with calm seas, sunshine and plenty of wildlife. We saw playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, elusive harbour porpoises, curious minke whales and several magnificent humpback whales, with highlights including close fluke dives, rolling, and bubble-net feeding. An exciting and memorable day with all four of our common cetacean species on display.
Despite choppy seas, today brought sightings of harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales, and even a humpback whale. One of the tours had no luck and issued complimentary tickets, while others enjoyed busy feeding grounds with gannets diving overhead. The final departures were cancelled due to deteriorating weather.
In calm seas and sunshine we spotted all four common cetaceans: pods of harbour porpoises, playful white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales, and numerous humpback whales. Breaches, pec and tail slaps, peduncle throws, and even bubble feeding created spectacular shows throughout the day. Faxaflói bay was alive from morning until sunset.

Tours enjoyed everything from quiet logging to spectacular breaching, pec-slapping and bubble-net feeding, with seabirds diving overhead.
Today we enjoyed sightings of all four common species: shy harbour porpoises, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, several minke whales and multiple humpback whales. Highlights included fluke dives, breaches, spy-hops, and close encounters, with dolphins bow-riding and humpbacks showing cooperative feeding. A truly lively day in Faxaflói bay.
Today brought excellent sightings, with pods of white-beaked dolphins, multiple minke whales and several humpback whales showing fluke dives, breaches, pec slaps and tail slaps. Highlights included feeding humpbacks alongside dolphins and minkes, plus “Davy Jones” making an appearance. We had a truly action-filled day at sea!
A lively day at sea with breaching humpback whales in the morning and showing off with powerful tail-slaps in the afternoon. Several minke whales surfaced close by across all tours, while pods of playful white-beaked dolphins and elusive harbour porpoises added to the variety. Due to rough weather, some of our tours ended up getting cancelled today.
The day brought calm seas and lively encounters with humpback whales, including close fluke dives, and even continuous breaching peduncle throws in the afternoon. Over 10 minke whales were seen in the morning alone, surfaced throughout the bay, joined at times by playful pods of white-beaked dolphins and elusive harbour porpoises also made appearances.
Today’s tours featured multiple humpback whales, including pairs and bubble-net feeding duos, alongside plenty of minke whales spread across the bay. Several pods of up to 20+ playful white-beaked dolphins were spotted throughout the day and to round off the sightings, we also encountered some harbour porpoises, adding variety to an already lively day.
Despite rough weather, the bay delivered a mix of minke whales, playful pods of white-beaked dolphins, and several humpback whales, some feeding, fluking, and even bubble-netting. The birdlife, from gannets to puffins, pointed the way to the feeding zones, rewarding patient eyes. A couple of tours issued complimentary tickets due to limited sightings.
