This morning we experienced light rain that stayed with us until sunrise. After going around Viðey island, we spotted 2 humpback whales. The sea was so calm that we could see the details of their bodies underneath the surface! In the afternoon we again found the 2 humpback whales from the morning - one of them has been here for almost a month; Banana!

We sailed out with a Kp index of 4/9 and some heavy clouds rolling in from the south. Patience was an important factor on this evening's cruise, but we were eventually rewarded with incredible northern lights through gaps in the clouds!

The clouds were quite gappy the moment we sailed out and combined with a good solar activity we were excite about the evening. Unfortunately however we never managed to find any auroras, so we handed out complimentary tickets to all passengers.

We had a wonderful sunrise over Reykjavik as we sailed out this morning. We found 2 humpback whales close to Lundey island and as we sailed towards Hvalfjörður, we spotted 2 pods of 3-10 harbour porpoises. In the afternoon we again found the same 2 humpback whales as before. They came incredibly close to us, surfacing right at our front - incredible!

The sun was slowly rising, casting pinks and orange hues across a sleepy bay. We soon found 2 very relaxed humpback whales and 3 harbour porpoises. In the afternoon, we encountered 2 grey seals that popped their head up right next to us! As we continued our journey, we spotted the same 2 humpback whales as before and got to enjoy their presence for a while!

We could see faint northern lights as soon as we left the harbour. We made a stop by Viðey island to admire the Imagine Peace Tower, but sadly the lights never got stronger, so we handed out complimentary tickets to all our passengers.

The sea was calm and the Imagine Peace Tower was incredible to watch in the pitch darkness, but even better, the fantastic northern lights came out and formed variously shaped arches in the sky above us - and what a joy to watch!

This morning we set out before sunrise to get the most of the day! We searched around the islands and before long spotted a sleepy humpback whale outside Skarfabakki. After seeing its unique fluke pattern, we could identify it as our friend Banana! In the afternoon we were lucky to find the resting humpback whale again, just a few minutes into the tour.

The day started out with some rain, but it didn't take us very long before we found a logging humpback whale. We watched it relax on the surface and even got some fluke dives. In the afternoon we got to enjoy the coast guard's safety drill by helicopter before finding a humpback whale! We were again very lucky to see this beautiful animal so close to shore.

We sailed out with virtually flat seas and clear sky. We had a look at the Imagine Peace Tower and enjoyed nice views of Reykjavík, but sadly no northern lights appeared despite our best efforts, so we issued complimentary tickets to all passengers.
