Whale Diary
What an amazing tour! Right from the start we had action with harbour seals swimming curiously around Eldey island. Then, we found humpback whales on the far side of Viðey island! It was difficult to estimate how many they were, as they moved very fast, but in the end we could count 4! They were mostly feeding together and fluking!

The sky started to clear and we had a great view of the moon and Jupiter. After patiently waiting, we got a glimpse of faint northern lights, but we ended up issuing complimentary tickets so everyone can come back another time!

Whale Diary
Just after sailing past Engey island, we spotted our first 2 humpback whales feeding. We watched them lunge through the water and raise their tails high out of the water. We also saw 2 grey seals bottling close to the boat. Suddenly, one of the whales came really close to the boat, surfacing just a few metres away - it was incredible!

The forecast predicted some gaps in the clouds, but unfortunately that was not the case and we saw no auroras. We therefore offered all our passengers complimentary tickets, so they could join us again another time.

Whale Diary
We set off in the same direction as yesterday and after about 50 min. we saw a feeding humpback whale! As we headed further out, we found another 4-5 humpback whales, including "Neila", a whale we have seen for 5 years in a row! One of them did a peduncle throw too! In total, we saw approximately 6 humpback whales on today's tour!

It was a calm night and we saw multiple shooting stars. The captain even put on the search light so we could see the field ice of ice we sailed through. Unfortunately the auroras were shy tonight, so we offered everyone complimentary tickets.

Today we sailed out properly into the bay. The ocean was very peaceful and calm, the mountains were snow covered, and the moon and the sun were out and shining. About 50 min. in, we saw multiple blows in one area - it was difficult to count how many humpback whales we saw, but we estimated around 8-11 individuals! What a tour!

The weather was cold today, but the sea was nice and calm. We started off by exploring the area by the islands near the harbour, but unfortunately saw no wildlife. We then decided to head further out into the bay and try our luck there - and we soon found a couple of humpback whales, surfacing a few times before fluking!

Spirits were high as we were leaving the harbour, as we had a good Kp predictive index, and absolutely clear skies. The northern lights did not disappoint, because we had action right from the start with a double arch to the west of mt. Esja.

Today's whale watching tour from Reykjavík is CANCELLED due to unfavourable sea conditions.

It was cloudy as we left the arbour, but things quickly changed! Before we knew it, we had clear skies and could see the Big Dipper. We had incredible bright green northern lights above us and some great dancing lights above mt. Esja.

Whale Diary
They sky was clear, the wind was calm and the waves sleepy. After some 20 minutes we spotted a blow close to mt. Esja - it was a humpback whale. It began traveling along the shore, sometimes going too close to land, so we had to be careful. It eventually did a very beautiful flukes dive before we returned to the harbour.
