This morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður under overcast skies and encountered a loose group of around 10 harbour porpoises before enjoying nice fluke dives from two humpback whales. In the afternoon we spotted another pod of harbour porpoises and two more humpback whales, one of which surprised us with a spectacular tail lob near the boat.
This morning we enjoyed calm conditions and were treated to a close humpback whale sighting near Hvalfjörður, a small pod of harbour porpoises and a surprise minke whale on the way home. In the afternoon, we returned to the fjord and encountered 5 harbour porpoises and 2 humpback whales, one fluking beautifully as we sailed back to Reykjavík.
This morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður and were treated to a close encounter with a curious humpback whale surfacing near the boat. In the afternoon we returned to sunshine and saw the same humpback whale breaching and pec-slapping, along with 10–15 feeding harbour porpoises swimming around the bow before more fluke dives closed the tour.

Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík have all been cancelled due to unfavourable conditions.
This morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður and found a single humpback whale calmly diving and fluking in sheltered waters, giving us a lovely, peaceful encounter. In the afternoon we returned to the fjord and were rewarded with two friendly humpback whales, one surfacing very close to our boat and both showing their flukes beautifully before we headed home.
This morning we enjoyed perfect visibility with puffins flying near Reykjavík and a brief sighting of harbour porpoises before spending most of the tour with three feeding minke whales surfacing close. In the afternoon, after a long sail and rising swell, we were treated to an incredible display as a humpback whale breached around 20 times near the boat!

CE4RT Programme
In 2023, Elding was selected for the CE4RT programme, a European initiative supporting sustainable tourism SMEs. Elding received training, coaching, certification opportunities, and funding to boost sustainability practices. Key projects included implementing a green procurement policy for our souvenir shop and pioneering upcycled souvenirs from recycled textiles.
This morning we sailed in sunny weather and perfect sea conditions, encountering two minke whales among feeding birds before finding two humpback whales fluking beautifully near the end of the tour. In the afternoon we spotted another quick minke whale, two humpback whales surfacing close, and a slow-moving pod of white-beaked dolphins.
This morning we enjoyed changing skies and calm seas, encountering two minke whales and several playful pods of white-beaked dolphins leaping and twisting around our boat in a joyful display. In the afternoon we spotted elusive minke whales and were treated to spectacular lunge feeding by two humpback whales showing off their white pectoral fins.
In the morning we sailed through light rain into sunshine, spotting a large flock of birds before finding a humpback whale just in time before returning to port. We managed to see it surface a few times before heading back to shore to keep to our schedule. In the afternoon we enjoyed an encounter with a humpback whale delighting everyone on the boat.
This morning we sailed under dramatic skies with plenty of northern gannets, puffins and black-legged kittiwakes but sadly no cetaceans were spotted, so we issued complimentary tickets. In the afternoon we enjoyed calm seas and a fantastic encounter with a very friendly humpback whale showing off its big white pectoral fins and beautiful fluke dives.
Today we sailed among huge flocks of seabirds including black-legged kittiwakes and northern gannets, spotting two elusive minke whales surfacing briefly among the birds before handing out complimentary tickets. In the afternoon we enjoyed calm seas and a wonderful encounter with a fluking humpback whale showing off very close to our boat!
This morning we enjoyed a calm sea, sailing among puffins and gannets before encountering a friendly humpback whale surfacing close to us, followed by a brief sighting of a minke whale. In the afternoon we found several minke whales, a pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises, a playful pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins, and ended the day with a humpback whale.
In the morning we enjoyed the sunshine and calm seas as we encountered a fast-travelling humpback whale known as Mr. Bubbles, giving us wonderful fluke dives during a long crossing of the bay. In the afternoon we spotted another humpback whale near the islands, and as we were heading back to the harbour we encountered a feeding minke whale!
