Toward the end of the morning tour, we caught a glimpse of a minke whale, but it was super quick and the passengers didn't really get a chance to see it, so we issued complimentary tickets tickets in the end. In the afternoon we found ourselves a minke whale! It was seemingly unbothered by our presence, as it surfaced multiple times very close to our boat!
After a few cloudy days we finally had the change to sail out. There were gaps in the clouds so we could see the stars clearly and we started seeing a faint green just above Esjan mountain. Ultimately we decided to issue complimentary tickets.
The morning tour started with calm seas and almost no wind. Out of nowhere, dorsal fins emerged - it was 6-7 white-beaked dolphins! The afternoon tour saw a pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises, a feeding minke whale appeared! After a bit more of travelling during the bay we spotted the first 2 atlantic puffins of the year and about 12 feeding white-beaked dolphins.
In the morning we sailed into a cloudy bay. Unfortunately no cetaceans were found, so we issued complimentary tickets to all our passengers. In the afternoon, we had searched for quite a while before we encountered a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins! They were swimming in circles most of the time, and we got great looks at them though close to the boat.
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we have decided to CANCEL the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
We set off this morning and saw a total of 11 harbour porpoises. We also spotted a minke whale, but due to the quick sightings, we decided to issue complimentary tickets. The afternoon encountered a minke whale and got to spend quite some time with this individual, and even saw multiple lunge feeds! On the way back we ran into a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins.
We sailed out this morning and about 20 minutes into the tour, we saw a few splashes coming from near Grótta, by about 15 harbour porpoises. Then, a few black bodies with fins emerged to breathe, it was 5 minke whales! We then came across a pod of 7 feeding white-beaked dolphins! In the afternoon we saw 2 pods of 4 white-beaked dolphins!
We sailed tonight with calm seas and just a light breeze in the bay. There were some clouds in the sky but as the Kp was very high we remained hopeful. Sadly, we had no luck with the auroras tonight, so we issued complimentary tickets to everyone.
