Preview textThis morning we again sailed into Hvalfjörður where we found a calm humpback whale taking short dives and then tail-slapping over 20 times before fluking in the rain! In the afternoon, under thick fog, we encountered 2 harbour porpoises and watched a very active humpback whale fluke and dive near the boat, with another one spotted deeper in the fjord.

Preview textThis morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður and encountered a small pod of harbour porpoises swimming close by, followed by a peaceful humpback whale resting near us. In the afternoon, we returned to the fjord and again saw harbour porpoises, and a very curious humpback whale that swam just an arm’s length from our boat before a lovely fluke dive.

Preview textThis morning we searched both the bay as well as "whale fjord", only spotting an elusive minke whale and a trio of shy harbour porpoises before running out of time and issuing complimentary tickets. In the afternoon, under clearing skies, we were treated to great views of three minke whales, one surfacing close to us, and a pod of 9 playful white-beaked dolphins.

Preview textThis morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður under overcast skies and encountered a loose group of around 10 harbour porpoises before enjoying nice fluke dives from two humpback whales. In the afternoon we spotted another pod of harbour porpoises and two more humpback whales, one of which surprised us with a spectacular tail lob near the boat.

Preview textThis morning we enjoyed calm conditions and were treated to a close humpback whale sighting near Hvalfjörður, a small pod of harbour porpoises and a surprise minke whale on the way home. In the afternoon, we returned to the fjord and encountered 5 harbour porpoises and 2 humpback whales, one fluking beautifully as we sailed back to Reykjavík.

Preview textThis morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður and were treated to a close encounter with a curious humpback whale surfacing near the boat. In the afternoon we returned to sunshine and saw the same humpback whale breaching and pec-slapping, along with 10–15 feeding harbour porpoises swimming around the bow before more fluke dives closed the tour.

Preview textThis morning we sailed into Hvalfjörður and found a single humpback whale calmly diving and fluking in sheltered waters, giving us a lovely, peaceful encounter. In the afternoon we returned to the fjord and were rewarded with two friendly humpback whales, one surfacing very close to our boat and both showing their flukes beautifully before we headed home.

Preview textThis morning we enjoyed perfect visibility with puffins flying near Reykjavík and a brief sighting of harbour porpoises before spending most of the tour with three feeding minke whales surfacing close. In the afternoon, after a long sail and rising swell, we were treated to an incredible display as a humpback whale breached around 20 times near the boat!

In the afternoon we spotted another quick minke whale, two humpback whales surfacing close, and a slow-moving pod of white-beaked dolphins.

In the afternoon we spotted elusive minke whales and were treated to spectacular lunge feeding by two humpback whales showing off their white pectoral fins.

Preview textIn the morning we sailed through light rain into sunshine, spotting a large flock of birds before finding a humpback whale just in time before returning to port. We managed to see it surface a few times before heading back to shore to keep to our schedule. In the afternoon we enjoyed an encounter with a humpback whale delighting everyone on the boat.

In the afternoon we enjoyed calm seas and a fantastic encounter with a very friendly humpback whale showing off its big white pectoral fins and beautiful fluke dives.

In the afternoon we enjoyed calm seas and a wonderful encounter with a fluking humpback whale showing off very close to our boat!

In the afternoon we found several minke whales, a pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises, a playful pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins, and ended the day with a humpback whale.

In the afternoon we spotted another humpback whale near the islands, and as we were heading back to the harbour we encountered a feeding minke whale!

Preview textIn the morning we enjoyed calm seas, sunshine, and were joined by lots of gannets and puffins! Then, we found a friendly minke whale surfacing beautifully. In the afternoon we encountered 3 minke whales, and eventually had a wonderful encounter with a friendly humpback whale known as Aang in our ID catalogues, showing its fluke before heading back to land.

Preview textIn the morning we encountered feeding minke whales, playful white-beaked dolphins and had a close encounter with a friendly humpback whale we know as Mr. Bubbles! In the afternoon we spotted another minke whale, a large pod of 25+ white-beaked dolphins, and more beautiful views of Mr. Bubbles the humpback whale in very shallow waters near Reykjavík.

Preview textToday we found a humpback whale and a minke whale surfacing sporadically. One of them breached once before we found 4 pods of 6-9 white-beaked dolphins each! In the afternoon we quickly spotted a couple of minke whales and then we saw 10 white-beaked dolphins and a humpback whale. We then saw two more pods of 14 white-beaked dolphins!

Preview textWe sailed out in a chilly breeze and gorgeous sunshine. After about an hour, we found a humpback whale - we even spotted a few blows in the distance! Eventually we encountered 2-4 harbour porpoises and a minke whale on our way home. In the afternoon we hit the jackpot! In all, we had about 4 humpback whales and about 6 different minke whales!
