Today we sailed out properly into the bay. The ocean was very peaceful and calm, the mountains were snow covered, and the moon and the sun were out and shining. About 50 min. in, we saw multiple blows in one area - it was difficult to count how many humpback whales we saw, but we estimated around 8-11 individuals! What a tour!

The weather was cold today, but the sea was nice and calm. We started off by exploring the area by the islands near the harbour, but unfortunately saw no wildlife. We then decided to head further out into the bay and try our luck there - and we soon found a couple of humpback whales, surfacing a few times before fluking!

They sky was clear, the wind was calm and the waves sleepy. After some 20 minutes we spotted a blow close to mt. Esja - it was a humpback whale. It began traveling along the shore, sometimes going too close to land, so we had to be careful. It eventually did a very beautiful flukes dive before we returned to the harbour.

Even though it was a little chilly, the golden hour light made the whole bay look like something out of a postcard. About 15 minutes in, we spotted two humpback whales and then soon after, a third humpback whale! This time, we got an incredible close-up of its fluke as it dove down. The excitement on board was contagious!

We were hopeful as we left the harbour as we had spotted a blow in the distance from the start! It was a humpback whale very close to the entrance of Skarfabakki harbour. We then found 2 more humpback whales diving and feeding. Throughout the tour, we also saw at least 10 harbour seals, some of them getting very close!

It was warmer than the previous days, and as soon as we left the port the action started! Just west of Viðey, we saw a blow of a humpback whale, and on closer inspection we saw that there was a second and third one nearby. We also saw plenty of harbour seals, and a small group of harbour porpoises next to the islands!

What a great tour to start the year! We set out in amazing weather, not too cold, and clear skies. Shortly after leaving port we saw a humpback whale just west of Lundey island. Then we moved on, and we spotted 2 more humpback whales, making a total of 3 individuals. We got lots of flukes, and the last one, was really close to the boat!

The weather conditions were really good today and we were all filled with the spirit of New Year's Eve! Eventually we found 4 humpback whales, all separate, but they gave quite the show - one of them breached! We were a bit far when it happened, but most people could see it. It was spectacular, and it did a few fin and tail slaps also!

Again, we set off on two boats, but despite the sun, it was very cold. In total there were 5 humpback whales surrounding the islands close to Reykjavík. The best of these was a pair that came up very regularly and showed us their beautiful flukes too. In the distance we also could see Snæfellsjökull for the first time in a while too!

The sun was shining as we one again sailed out on two boats. Within 15 minutes, we had found our friend Flak, a humpback whale we have seen since 2022. In a short amount of time we stumbled upon another 3 whales that were quite busy feeding on the sprat that still is around the islands of Reykjavík. We also saw 4 harbour seals!

The sun was finally out as we set off on two boats. We very quickly spotted a blow from a humpback whale - this was the first of 3-4 during the trip along with a grey- and harbour seal. One whale was by far the most active as we saw it breach twice before loads of pec slaps too! Then we both headed back to shore with happy passengers.

This afternoon we sailed out with two boats and spotted 2 sneaky humpback whales hanging out in the surf by Viðey, but we decided to move on due to the rocky movements. We then found 2 more humpback whales, taking turns watching them - both coming quite close to us on occasion. In total during the tour we saw 4-5 whales!

On this wonderful Christmas Eve we set off on two boats full of excited passengers! We had a whirlwind of a tour with a couple of snow blizzards. We saw up to 15 grey seals and a couple of humpback whales - one was actively feeding, while the other was resting and logging at the surface. We got a great look at both individuals before heading back!

We were joined by a pod of 10 harbour porpoises which followed us for some time as we sailed out. Eventually we saw a total of 3 humpback whales, 2 together and 1 solitary. Having three animals with us, we stayed in the same area for the duration of the tour. They were feeding, and spending lots of time on the surface, giving us many fluke dives.

The whole bay just had that peaceful winter vibe, and we couldn't wait to see what the ocean had in store for us. We soon saw a humpback whale, but this one was a bit of a lazy swimmer. Then, we spotted a couple more humpback whales feeding together! Seeing them so close, working in sync, was incredible! It was such a perfect afternoon.

Today was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, and we were determined to make the most of the little daylight we had by seeing some wildlife! We soon spotted our first humpback whale, feeding - at one point we could see its whole body through the water. We then spotted 2 more humpback whales swimming together!

Today’s whale watching adventure saw a humpback whale near Lundey island. We hung out with it while it was feeding, and though it took a while to fluke, the excitement on board was contagious once it did! Mount Esja looked stunning, all snowy and picturesque, and to top it off, we had Christmas tunes playing throughout the tour!
