Tour at 13:00

Today we sailed out in a very nice weather from Reykjavík old harbour. After maybe 15 minutes of sailing another boat informed us that they had white-beaked dolphins. It was a small pod of about 5-8 individuals. We stayed with these dolphins for about 10-15 minutes before heading further out. Very nice start of the tour :) We sailed for some time but then suddenly another pod of white-beaked dolphins surfaced quite close to the boat. This pod was little big bigger than the first one. After few minutes we decided that we wanted to go even further out. Once we got further we sailed in a very heavy fog so the visibility was very poor. It was almost impossible to search for any whales in these conditions so we decided to head back. Soon we saw that heading back was not so bad idea after all. About 70-100 white-beaked dolphins were actively feeding and swimming very close to us, surfacing all around us, swimming under the boat and giving us a good chance to take a good look. This was just incredible and they stayed with us for a long time. So all in all we can say that this was the big dolphin day!
