The World Cetacean Alliance is a powerful coalition of individuals, businesses and organisations working towards best practice and sustainability in whale and dolphin watching tourism. We intend to have a positive influence on the way we view whales and dolphins. Together we are the global voice for whales and dolphins.

As a partner of the World Cetacean Alliance we comply with the following minimum standards for responsible whale and dolphin watching.

  2. Be valuable as a learning experience

  3. Meet the expectations of customers

  4. Minimise any impact on the marine environment

  5. Emphasize research work undertaken or support for marine conservation efforts

Responsible Whale Watching

In early 2020, Elding successfully completed WCA's Responsible Whale Watching Certification remote audit and was one of the first whale watching operators to achieve this global certification! 

Certificationis based on the WCA’s Global Guidelines for Responsible Whale and Dolphin Watching are overseen by an international panel with specialist knowledge. Customers of WCA certified responsible whale and dolphin watching tours can be confident they are travelling with the very best whale and dolphin watching experiences in the world!

This programme is the only global certification for whale and dolphin watching tourism. It represents the international standard for responsible whale watching, developed by the industry, for the industry. The World Cetacean Alliance is the world’s largest network of experts on whale and dolphin watching.
