Tour at 17:00
Report from Hafsúlan: The winds had calmed a bit when we headed out this afternoon but so had the wildlife. Apart from 2-3 very elusive harbour porpoises there were no whales to be seen! We managed to get a good look at some nice sea birds but that was it. What a disappointment. But such is wildlife. Our passengers got complimentary tickets at the end of the tour. Better luck next time.

Report from Hafsúlan: Right in time for the afternoon tour the wind had calmed down a bit and the sailing out into the bay was quite pleasant in the sunshine. Again it took us quite a while to spot our first minke whale. In total we were able to find 3 different individuals, but none of them seemed to be in whale watching mood. They were very elusive and tended to disappear before we got close enough to get a good look at them. On a more positive note though, the Northern Gannets provided us with quite a nice show again - diving all around the boat. Right before reaching Reykjavík harbour we spotted a pod of 3-5 white-beaked dolphins. They surfaced a couple of times, two of them very close to the boat, but then they also disappeared. The passengers got complimentary tickets at the end of the tour.

Report from Hafsúlan: We started out by heading out on a bright but windy bay. We had to look for quite a while until we found the first traces of minke whales. About 2 or 3 minke whales were spotted but they were being very difficult, surfacing only a few times and not showing off very well. After a while we decided to head into another area and finally we got some proper action! There was a pod of white-beaked dolphins that approached us and came up right next to the boats, breaching playfully out of the water. Unfortunately, we only got to enjoy the dolphins for a short time before they vanished. All in all a nice day but quite disappointing sightings.
