Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: today we went out from and returned to Hafnarfjörður. There was considerable swell for much of the tour as a result of the storm of the past days but we went as gently as we could, passenger safety being our highest concern. Very cold it was and a bit windy. We sailed close to the shoreline for shelter from the southwestern wind and headed west towards Keflavik. We saw probably more northern gannets on this tour than we have in a while; they might be present already to gear up for a hopefully good run of herring into the bay in the coming weeks, which will hopefully also see a number of cetaceans following them as well, something we long for. We sailed up along Garðskagi and checked those waters as well as a bit offshore but sadly nothing turned up then nor during the journey back to Hafnarfjörður. As a result, our passengers were provided with complimentary return tickets so that they can come back with us for another whale-watching tour free of charge within the next two years. Hopefully there will be a better day tomorrow.
