Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Today we sailed out from the harbor of Hafnafjörður to gain better shelter from the south- west winds. It was raining for the first 30 minutes of the tour but after that it cleared up and we had a very pleasant sailing. The view over the Reykjanes peninsula was beautiful with the sun shining over the snowy mountains. The sea conditions were good close to Reykjanes even though the wind was blowing a bit. We passed few fishing boats on the tour and saw quite a lot of sea birds flying around but unfortunately that was the only life we found out on the bay today. Without seeing any cetaceans on today’s tour we offered our passengers complimentary tickets in hope they will be luckier next time and can see whales.

Birds seen on today's tour include: northern ganntes, fulmars, kittiwakes, glaucous gulls, black-headed gulls, black-backed gulls, guillmots, razorbills, cormorants, shags, eider ducks.
