Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: We sailed from Reykjavík with much better weather than in the morning, there was blue sky and the sun was shining. We had two or our boats going out this afternoon for the unsuspecting amount of passengers joining us. Our boat Elding spotted the first Humpback Whale just 20 minutes of leaving the harbour. After some time of enjoying the humpback alone, Hafsúlan our other boat came over and had their turn as Elding ventured off to find other life. And for Hafsúlan the whale was happy to do more than the normal amount of displaying, it was both lob tailing and fluke slapping before us. Elding spotted a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins, 3-5 of them that seemed to be resting and not in a very whale watching mood so they soon vanished. After sometime Elding decided to head back to the Humpback Whale and Hafsúlan went for their adventure looking for other cetaceans. Elding calmly sailed with the Humpback as it traveled near and past the city center, perfect photographs with the whale in the foreground and the city and snow-capped mountains in the background. This, plus the good weather made for a very good tour this afternoon.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This morning had given us much better sea conditions than the day before so we were very happy to sail out into Faxaflói to search for whales. After around 45 minutes we found an area with lots of fish and decided to wait there, a pod of White-Beaked Dolphins then appeared and came very close to us before disappearing. After some more searching of the area we managed to find another small group of dolphins but they were again quite elusive. We were happy to see the dolphins on this fine morning.
