Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We went out from Reykjavik again this afternoon. Since we had spotter white-beaked dolphins in the morning, we decided to go to the same area which looked very promising with a lot of feeding birds. It did not take long until we spotter a group of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins. It was a great encounter as we were able to watch the dolphins traveling next to us and then cross our path and swim underneath our boat multiple times. Their might have been a second group of dolphins, as is was hard to keep track of them sometimes. Some of them were leaping out of the water, so that we could see their white beaks and the beautiful black/white pattern on their bodies. Since we try to minimize our disturbance to the animals, we moved on to look for other species after approximately half an hour. We spotted many northern gannets and other birds during the tour, but did not spot any other cetaceans while we moved slowly back to Reykjavik.

Report from Hafsúlan: We went out from Reykjavik today into Faxaflói which had calmed down since yesterday. We did not see any cetaceans for a long time but saw a lot of different bird species and watched kittiwakes and northern gannets feeding. Finally, we spotted a group of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins. They surfaced around our boat multiple times und we could see the black and white pattern on the back and on the sides of the dolphins. We would have liked to spend a little more time with them, but had to start heading back to Reykjavik harbour after a while.
