Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed for about half an hour before we saw a pod of 8-9 white beaked dolphins. They were swimming slowly around our boat so it was easy for everyone to follow their movement. We only spent about ten minutes with the dolphins because we wanted to keep on going further out on the bay. Then we came to this amazing area where so many minke whales were feeding. It seemed like it didn't matter in what direction you looked you were always able to spot a minke. We had at least 6 minke whales within 500 meters from our boat in that area and way more further away. It was incredible to see the minke whales Rowling and lunging while huge flocks of birds dived down for food. We left that area when we saw jumping dolphins further north. It was a great end on the tour when this pod of 4 dolphins started to bow ride infront of the boat!

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out today in perfect whale watching condition with flat sea and good visibility. We didn't have to sail for long until we spotted our first minke whale. This individual was going for long deep dives so we only managed to see it twice and then we headed further out. This tour was really a great tour with loads of wildlife. We probably spotted around 7-8 minke whales on the way and at one point 4 minkes within 500 meters. The best part of the tour however were the white-beaked dolphins. We spotted two pods first coming towards us, maybe 5-6 individuals. Then a little bit further our we encountered another pod of dolphins, around 12 individuals. This pod was really great, breaching and leaping into the air. When we came further out into the bay we noticed a minke whale lunge feeding and making big splashes. On our way back the tour was far from over and the dolphins kept leaping and breaching high into the air so the passengers could enjoy. Really an enjoyable tour with a lot of animals and wildlife.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: On this incredibly calm morning we left the harbour in search of cetaceans. The sea was completely flat, which made it the perfect situation to spot marine mammals in the bay. We encountered our first animals very soon, only about 20 minutes traveling west, it was a minke whale. A few minutes later we decided to keep on going, which brought us to an area where we were basically surrounded by minke whales. In total we saw at least 15 different minke whales on this amazing morning. As if we were not lucky enough yet, with the sea conditions as well as the large amount of minke whales, we also had the joy of 3 different pods of white- beaked dolphins with at least 10 different individuals. Those dolphins were very curious, came up to the boat very close and were showing us some acrobatic jumps as well, all in all an unforgettable morning.
