Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: After a rather bumpy tour without cetaceans we were hoping to have more luck on this tour. We were taking a different route sailing to the Northeast close to shore searching for any signs of cetaceans. In the rough conditions with many white caps it wasn't easy to spot animals, but at least we could enjoy the sun shining above us and slowly starting to set. However, we didn't manage to find any whales or dolphins on this tour which is why we offered our few passengers the complimentary tickets so that they have the chance to come with us on anther tour for free.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed under a strong wind, but the bay was lit by a mighty and welcome sun so we were enthusiast about this trip. Because of the swell and all the white caps on the water created by the wind, the spotting was expected to be tricky on this tour. And the rocky boat was not going easy on the sensitive stomachs on board. Yet we remained patient and attentive. Unfortunately it was one of those unfair times where the efforts are not rewarded and we did not encountered any cetaceans. We could spot some interesting birds, especially a lot of diving northern gannets, but our expectations of seeing whales were not met. For this reason, we offered complimentary tickets to any passengers willing to try their luck a second time on our boats within the next two years. Let's wish them better luck next time !

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: Due to a high number of passengers we sailed out with two boats this morning. Hafsúlan took a more northern route than Eldey in the strong northern wind. The swells were hitting us from the side and made the tour quite rocky on both boats. We sailed for a long time without seeing anything but luckily it was a clear and sunny day so the view was very good all around us. We got excellent looks of mount Esja that protected us from the worst winds when we sailed close to the coast. It was Eldey that found the pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins that entertained us for good while swimming fairly close to both of our boats. We could stay a while with the dolphins and at the same time we had hundreds of northern gannets diving all around us. When time was up we had to start heading back into the swells and the journey back was rough, luckily the complimentary overalls kept us dry.
