Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The same conditions as this morning with weak winds and dry sky. We had an amazing view over the landscape as we sailed out. Most of the mountain tops around Faxaflói are now snow covered. We came across many flocks of seagulls on our way out, by the looks of it they were done feeding and now resting on the surface. We always slowed down and had an extra look in these areas. Unfortunately we didn't find any whales or dolphins close to the birds so the search had to go on. Towards the end we got a call from another whale watching boat about a minke whale. When we got to the scene we scan the surface for some time but no minke wanted to surface again. This was one of those tours when nothing went our way, so we had to return to harbour empty handed. We offered all passengers complimentary tickets.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Even though it was colder today than last few days the weather was much better. The sky kept dry all day, very low wind speed and almost no swell. We were optimistic for finding animals in these conditions. Nevertheless it was really difficult to find whales or dolphins, it took us a long time to find life out on the bay. On the way back we found 6-7 white beaked dolphins. They were really elusive at first but when we were starting to head back to Reykjavík they started to jump out of the water, making big splashes and everyone got a really good look at them. This was a great end for this tour.
