Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey:We sailed out from Reykjavík's Old Harbour on this windy morning, and encountered many white caps and a bit of swell out in the bay. We headed west towards our main sighting areas and then further south to get some protection from land. Except for a few beaks, we were constantly accompanied by heavy rainfall and only got some sunshine in the very end of the tour. After about 1,5 hours, another whale watching boat potted a minke whale; so we headed over to them and helped searching this animal, but no one saw it again. Therefore, we moved on and after another 30 min finally found 2-3 white-beaked dolphins. They suddenly appeared next to our boat, but unfortunately they were very elusive. A few passengers managed to get a look at them as we saw them three times moving away from us before they vanished. It was very frustrating to find cetaceans that were so elusive after such a long time of searching. We kept searching but in the end offered our passengers complimentary tickets, so that they can give it another try on another tour with us, and hopefully the whales and dolphins are more curious then.
