Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The weather was actually very good today with only weak winds from the east and a cloudy sky. That meant good sailing and cetacean spotting conditions. We started with a very good harbour porpoise encounter, 6-8 individuals traveled slowly and we could see them several times surfacing rather close to us. Shortly after a second pod of 4-5 porpoises showed themselves equally good to us, fun to see these normally shy animals so close. After that we searched for a long time without finding anything, different species of seabirds kept us company around the boat. Northern fulmars, glaucous gulls and Iceland gulls to mention a few. Luckily we managed to find a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins. The came right up to us and swam under the boat and beside it several times, really playful dolphins. When they got further away we decided to leave them in peace and start heading back. On our way we had two more pods of dolphins that provided us with some last looks before we reached the harbour. A pleasant day out in the bay.
