Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Once again it was beautiful day on the bay, sun shining, mountains with a fresh layer of snow and the sunset at the end of the tour was breath-taking. We searched a large area of the bay and saw quite a few clusters of feeding of seabirds, close to one we saw small splashes from a pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises, but only the splashes could be seen. We searched and searched but unfortunately no other cetaceans were encountered, we thus offered our passengers a complimentary ticket, which is a free whale watching tour in the next 2 years. Hopefully they will come back and have better luck next time. The seabird life was diverse though and many of our passengers enjoyed watching them.

Tomorrow we will be heading on the other side of the Reykjanes to Grindavik and search along the south coast. This area is very beautiful and hopefully will have more luck with the whales. We will be transporting our passengers there free of charge from the old harbour in Reykjavik at 13:00. It will take about 45 minutes to drive there where we will meet the boat. If you would like to join us then please book so that we came organise the appropriate amount of buses,.

Birds seen on the tour: Northern fulmar, eider ducks, razorbills, common guillemots, black-headed gulls, greater black-backed gull, iceland gull, glaucous gulls, sooty shearwater, black guillemot, red throated diver and black-legged kittiwakes.
