Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: There was once more a large amount of snow to clear this morning after the storm yesterday but the beauty of it was worth the workout. The wind had calmed down a little today but still it was very windy and cold. To give our passengers more comfort we decided to go from Hafnafjörður harbour and end in Reykjavik. For the first 30-40 minutes of the tour we traveled into the wind and even through a snow storm so we did not only get hit by new snow but also the snow left on the boat from the evening. Then we traveled comfortably towards the North and heard about a pod of white-beaked dolphins that the other whale watching company vessel saw, it would take us 30 minutes to reach the area and once we got there a couple of passengers and the captain saw a couple of dark fins about 30 meters from the boat but that was it, we searched the area extensively but the dolphins were not seen again. It was getting dark and we had to give up, we sailed home and gave our disappointed passengers complimentary tickets for a free whale watching tour in the next two years.
