Tour 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was an incredible day to be out at sea today, the skies were clear, sea was calm and the sun was shining. Everthing was covered in snow and the sun as it set was beautiful. This weather provided us with the best spotting conditions and it was not long before leaving the harbour that we saw our first pod of white beaked dolphins, there was many mothers and calves, which all together made a pod of about 8-10 scattered pairs. They were very relaxed and became curious sometimes approaching the vessel. They were incredible to watch and we were able to stay with them for a long time, after a while they became a bit more difficult to follow and so we left them in peace. After a nice relaxing 40-50 minutes more sailing we came across another pod of white-beaked dolphins, a smaller pod of adults, maybe 3-5 animals. They were great to watch for about 20 minutes before they too got bored and became more elusive. We started to head home then all the while still looking for the big blow of humpbacks, the tall dorsal fins of orca and the swift movements of minke whales. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water.
