Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: A clear day with some northern winds and cold temperatures. The scenery was very beautiful with snow covered mountain tops. We sailed into the winds from the start and it was cold. Good that we could use the onboard overalls that kept us warm. We had sailed for one hour when a small pod of 4-5 harbour porpoises was spotted in front of us. They passed us quickly on the left side and we couldn't find them again. We continued searching but this proved to be our only sighting for today. Because no dolphins or whales were seen on the tour we offered all passengers a complimentary ticket valid for another whale watching tour within the next two years. We look forward and hope tomorrow brings us more luck and hopefully some cetaceans.

Birds seen on todays tour include: Glaucous gulls, Iceland gulls, greater black-backed gulls, black-headed gulls, European shag, long-tailed duck and eider duck.
