Status: RUNNING
We are sailing out today from Reykjavik harbour. The forecast predicts northeastern wind between 10 and 18 m/s and we could experience some swells.
Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: After the small storm yesterday, it was still pretty windy as we sailed out from Reykjavík in light snow. After a while we headed to the northern part of Faxaflói, while another whale watching boat was covering an area further south to increase our chances of finding cetaceans. Even though it was foggy with low-hanging clouds when we left the harbour, the visibility improved a lot during the tour so that we got to enjoy all of the land with the mountains and small towns around us. For the first half we barley saw any wildlife around us, there was just the occasional northern fulmar flying by. We kept watching out for whales and dolphins, however, we didn't find any cetaceans today. At least we encountered a few more bird species towards the end of the tour, but of course we offered all our passengers complimentary tickets. These are valid for any whale watching tour with Elding within the next two years and I hope that we will have more success then.
