Today we are sailing out from Hafnafjoður.
Tour at 1300
Report from Elding: We sailed out from Hafnarfjörður today to avoid the southerly winds using the Reykjanes peninsula as cover. It worked quite well and there was very little rocking of the boat throughout the entire cruise. We searched out into the bay and along the west coast of Reykjavik in beautiful conditions with the setting sun sending golden rays over the cloud tops and a dark rainy cloud moving swiftly over Reykjavík in the distance. Unfortunately we found no cetaceans today despite our best efforts. This could be due to lack of food in the area or a variety of other factors since this is of course wild nature. As a small compensation for our passengers we gave them a complimentary tickets valid for another whale watching cruise within 2 years. We hope to see them all again!
