Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Like the previous days we sailed out in Faxaflói in search for whales and dolphins. The weather was more windy and colder so the warm overalls onboard did a good work with keeping us warm. We have been struggling the last couple of days to find whales or dolphins but we of course always leave the harbour with a hopeful mind. They need to return to the bay at some point. That is also the beauty with wildlife and whale watching even though you have done it a thousand times you never know what would be waiting for you out in the bay the next day. We searched far, we searched wide, but today no cetaceans showed up. We saw some cool seabirds like northern gannets with their white and black coloring, also plenty of shags and northern fulmar flew past us. Because of the lack of whales and dolphins our passengers got a complimentary ticket valid for another whale watching tour with us. Tomorrow looks windy so we will see if we go out, make sure to contact our ticket office beforehand if you plan on joining us.

Bird species seen on todays tour include: northern gannet, northern fulmar, shag, glaucous gull, Iceland gull, greater black-backed gull, common gull and eider duck.
