Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from Reykjavik Harbour today. The forecast predicts a little wind from the southeast and we can experience some swells.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was a sunny and crystal clear winter day when we left the old harbour in Reykjavík this morning. The conditions remained fairly good outside in the bay as well, although it got a bit cold in the northern wind. During our search we entered a very promising area far out in the bay with thousands of seabirds. Mainly northern fulmars and various types of seagulls were seen. It gave us hope of finding something bigger.. Whales and dolphins often goes hand-in-hand with birdlife, the birds usually tells us where the food (fish) are. Sadly the area proved to be empty of whales and dolphins so we returned to harbour with a lot of seabird observations but no whales or dolphins had shown up. Therefore we offered all passengers a complimentary ticket valid for another whale watching tour with us within the next two years. I hope many can use them and come back with hopefully more success.

Bird species seen on todays tour include: northern gannet, northern fulmar, "blue fulmar", glaucous gull, Iceland gull, herring gull, greater black-backed gull, black-headed gull, shag, razorbill and eider duck.
