Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from Reykjavik Harbour today. The forecast predicts wind from the east and we can experience some swells.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan & Elding: Due to the high number of passengers we went out with two boats from Reykjavík today. Elding left first and headed far out in to the bay, Faxaflói, while Hafsúlan went a bit further south hugging the shore of the Reykjanes Peninsula. It was pretty cold with strong winds that made the boats a bit rocky every now and then. However, with the sun shining over the snow-covered mountains it was still a great day to be out at sea. Even though we could cover a large part of the bay with the two boats, we didn't find any cetaceans on the tours. At least we got to see many different bird species today, but of course we offered all our passengers complimentary tickets. With these they can come back on another whale watching tour with us for free within the next two years -  we hope to see you again!

- Hanna Michel & Sigurlaug Sigurðardóttir

Bird species seen on today's tour include: northern gannets, northern fulmars, great black-backed gulls, black-legged kittiwakes, Iceland gulls, glaucous gulls, cormorants and long-tailed ducks.
