Report from Hafsulan: Well what can I say, today was incredible! We sailed out from Grindavik harbour due to to the lack of whales on the other side of the Reykjanes Peninsula. If there was something to be seen, it was sure to be here that we would see it. Just 10 mins out of the harbour we spotted a small pod of 2-4 White-beaked Dolphins, they surfaced a couple of times then disappeared. Then it was a pod of 5-7 Killer Whales, which seemed to be heading away fast but it wasn't until later that all our dreams came true. We found a bait ball of herring and feeding on that bait ball was at least 30-40 Killer Whales from babies to grown adults and at least 5 Humpback Whales, in a small area. If that wasn't enough there was also 10-15 White-beaked Dolphins, hundreds of Gannets, Kittiwakes, and Seagulls feeding also on the herring but also krill. It was going on all around us as you could see by the pictures and videos below. One of the best tours in Elding History, and one that will always be in ours hearts.
