We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik. The forecast predicts a little wind from the east but there could be some swell so there will be movement on the boat.

Report from Hafsúlan and Eldey: Once again the weather was perfect, overcast sky but the sea was calm and very little wind. The wind picked up at the end of the tour, coming in from the east, which made us shiver so for those wearing our overalls it was ok but most preferred being in the warm indoor saloons. Spotting conditions were great and harbour porpoises, both vessels saw 4-5 pods, biggest pod seen on Eldey was maybe 4-6 individuals. Then we got word from another whale watching boat about a pod of white-beaked dolphins, they were wonderful, slowly surfaced and all boats got a great look at them. There were even a few calves (baby dolphins in the pod), all in all there must have been about 8-10 individuals milling around in the area. We searched for other cetaceans but unfortunately none were seen. Still it was nice to be out on the sea and the snow-capped mountains were breath taking. It was also really nice to see a variety of birds too, european shags, seagulls, fulmars, gannets, kittiwakes to name a few.

Birds seen on today's tour included: european shags, northern fulmars, northern gannets, kittiwakes, glaucous gulls, iceland gulls, eider ducks.
