Status: RUNNING
We are sailing out today from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik. It is partially clouded and a little Wind from the west, so there could be some movement on the boat out on the bay.
Tour 17:00
Report from Eldey: Last tour of the day for Elding and the passengers that decided to take the ride in the evening, and what a ride! It was cloudy when we left the harbour, the more we were going in the Faxaflói, the more foggy the atmosphere was. The sea state kept calm during the whole tour which gave us the chance to see some harbour porpoises on the way out. We could see them for a couple of minutes. We where heading the same spot where the humpback was in the previous tour and it was a great decision because after one hour of the tour we just fully enjoyed of an amazing humpback whale in the feeding time. It showed an incredible feeding behaviours going at the surface with the open mouth several times. The animal got very close to the boat giving us the chance to take a better look from closer. We also had a great show of hundreds of birds feeding around in the area, diving next to the humpback whale. Such an amazing way to spend the evening, pure wildlife around.

Tour 13:00
Report from Eldey: The sea continued to stay relatively calm on this afternoon tour with some winds from the west. The first cetacean we saw after about 30 minutes was a minke whale surfacing. While we were heading towards it, we got news from another whale watching boat that they had seen a humpback whale so we decided to check it out. When we arrived the humpback whale was probably sleeping and therefore not so active, however we spotted a blow of another humpback whale about a kilometer away and decided to check it out. On our way there, we saw it breach multiple times and once we got close everybody got the chance to get good views of the humpback. After up to an hour the humpback waved us good-bye with it's fluke and it was time for us to sail back. As we were heading home we also saw another minke whale and some harbour porpoises. We had a very successful tour.

Tour 09:00
Report from Eldey: We went out on relatively calm seas this morning with only some wind from the west. Soon we were greeted by some puffins and after a while we spotted a couple of white-beaked dolphins and a minke whale, but decided to leave them because our captain saw the blow of a humpback whale in the distance. We stayed with the humpback for about 45 minutes and were rewarded with fantastic views of it's fluke. It was even tail lobbing only about a hundred meters away from us. After a while it was time for us to head back to the old harbour of Reykjavik. What a great tour.
