Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from Reykjavík in very very very cold conditions and yet breath-taking. We sailed to the area a friend of the company had told us about humpback Whale that was seen the day before. It was fantastic to see that the Whale was still around or maybe another had come into the area. Anyway, we saw a Humpback Whale whoo hoo!. It was so relaxed with our presence and we felt comfortable to stay with for most the tour. It was so close to land sometimes in waters only 3-5 meters deep. Humpbacks are reknowned for not minding shallow waters. He/she never brought up the tail but we had a very nice encounter, once it even felt comfotable enough to surface just a meter or two from the boat. A wonderful, but cold, day on the water.

Birds seen on todays tour includes: Glaucous Gulls, Iceland Gulls, Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Shags, Cormorants, Red throated divers, Eider Ducks, Long-tailed Ducks.
