We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on this beautiful day. According to the forecast the wind is calm but there will be movement on the boat. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we offer preventative tablets in the ticket office, free of charge! On board there are heated indoor areas but we also have overalls to keep you warm out on deck

Report from Eldey: We saw a lot of dolphins on the previous tour so on this tour we headed straight to the area where they were last seen hoping they were still around. On our way there we spotted a few harbour porpoises but they were so elusive that we didn't stop for them, we just enjoyed them as we passed them by. Soon after we spotted our first pod of about 6-7 white-beaked dolphins and a second pod of 5 individuals was just 400 meters away so we could keep an eye on both pods for a while. When we were almost out of time we decided to take a small circle to see if there were any other cetaceans in the bay and as we were starting to head back we heard from another whale watching boat that they had spotted a minke whale on the way back to harbour. It was a shy individual, only coming up once between deeper dives and constantly changing direction but we were able to see it a few times before heading back. On our way we saw more harbour porpoises, maybe around 13-15 in total on the tour. A good three species tour in good weather.

Report from Eldey: We recently got used to the fall weather and its fair share of wind, cloud and rain, so our scenery this morning delighted us ! After leaving the harbour we noticed something on our back, something huge, round and shiny, something that we almost forgot, the source of all warmth and life, our light in the dark, the almighty sun ! Thanks to the greeting of this old friend we enjoyed splendid landscapes and endless visibility. The only stain to this grandiose picture was a westerly wind, bringing in the bay some swell. But to adventurers eager to discover some wildlife, it was only a spicy addition to our trip. We wandered for what could have feel like a long time before finding our first cetaceans, but it was such a pleasure to sail in the bay today that we find nothing to complain about. Shortly after reaching the half of our excursion we found a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins. They seemed as cautious as curious at first, coming closer to us then disappearing for longer dives, but still remaining in the same area. One look to our fish finder allowed us to confirm that there was food in the water for them, so they were simply busy chasing the food. We enjoyed them for over half an hour, before we had to start our way back to land. But we were pleasantly surprised to sight 3 more pods of those cetaceans (pods of respectively 6-8, 4-6 and 3-5 individuals) ! They came in number today, and we hope they are in to stay a while among us.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: northern gannet, black-legged kittiwake, lesser black-backed gull, greater black-backed gull, common eider, northern fulmar, common guillemot, great northern diver and razorbill.
