Status: RUNNING

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. There will be movement on the boat due to swells out on Faxabay. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we offer preventative tablets in the ticket office, free of charge! On board there are heated indoor areas but we also have overalls to keep you warm out on deck.

Report from Eldey: Porpoise day!And it's good news I believe, also if you think about the increasing quantity of sea birds we are seeing lately in the bay... maybe the food -schooling fishes and krill- is coming back to the Faxafoi. In any case, it was quite a relaxed afternoon, with a magical touch due to the huge fog that was covering the sea. We encountered 3 different pods of harbour porpoises, with between 5-8 individuals each single one of them. We even got to see a quite unique behaviour: a harbour porpoises jumping out of the water! Really nice, but of course we understand that we've got more interesting fauna to see in this bay, so we offered our passengers the possibility to come back again thanks to our complimentary tickets!

Report from Eldey: Another tour with harbour porpoises! We have seen these very small, cute cetaceans on quite a few tours lately, this time maybe 2-3 individuals. They behaved as we usually expect it from harbour porpoises and just surfaced a few times before they disappeared. The sea conditions were pretty good for this time of year, though, there was just a bit of swell left from the last windy days. Since we did not find any bigger cetaceans, we handed out complimentary tickets so that all passengers can come on another tour for free. It's time for the whales and dolphins to show up again!

Bird species seen on today's tours include: razorbills, cormoratns, eider ducks, kittiwakes, great black-backed gulls, Iceland gulls, glaucous gulls, and northern fulmars.
