Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was a bright afternoon as we sailed out into Faxafloi bay, even though the wind forecast was very high the waves were fairly flat and smooth. Throughout the tour it was rather windy and we had a fair bit of rain however, our passengers didn´t seem to mind it so much as many stayed out for the whole tour! It took us a long time to search for cetaceans today as the conditions were not very favorable and it was very difficult to see anything other that white caps. Unfortunately after our long search we were unable to find any whales and so our passengers were offered complimentary tickets so they can come back with us and hopefully see some of the wonderful animals we usually get in the bay.

Bird species on todays tour: kittiwake, lesser black backed gull, northern fulmar, eider duck, storm petrel.

Status: RUNNING

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. There is a lot of wind so there will be some movement on the boat out on Faxabay due to swells.
