Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning started with a lovely sunrise over the mountain range of Esja. Faint blues, pinks and purples got us in a good mood for the coming whale watching tour. We knew that a storm was predicted for the afternoon so we prepared for some movement on the boat. Luckily the wind was blowing from land and so the swells had not have had a lot of time to develop yet. Therefore sailing was considerably good with only some movement on the boat and only the wind to battle on the way back to the harbour. Most of the time we managed to have the wind in the back so that we could search for cetaceans without a problem. However, they seemed to be elusive this morning so that we did not find any marine mammals. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the presence of many seabirds and will keep our fingers crossed that our passengers will see many cetaceans when they will make use of their complimentary tickets which we gave out at the end of the tour.
