Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Another beautiful tour with a flat sea and cold wind today. It didn´t take long until we came across our first group of about 10 white-beaked dolphins. We only spent a few minutes with them until we saw a second group in a few hundred meters distance. Since there was another whale watching boat around the first group, we decided to head over to the second group to not have to many boats around them. The second group consisted of at least 20 individuals and we were extremely happy to see many calves among them. Some of them were really tiny and so it was surprising how relaxed the dolphins were around us. From time to time we were just drifting while enjoying all the dolphins surfacing around us. After a good while we headed out to look for something else but only saw a single harbour porpoise surfacing tow times before it disappeared. On our way back, however, we had a last look at another group of these dolphins before returning to the harbour.

Report from Hafsulan:It was a fairly calm day out in Faxafloi, the wind wasn´t too strong and the sea fairly calm. It didn´t take us too long to find cetaceans today, after only a short sail a large sudo-pod of approximately 23 white-beaked dolphins were spotted 80 meters in the distance. They surfaced wonderfully, coming up very close and swam next to the boat under the water, giving us a wonderful look at their beautiful pattered bodies. A mother and calf also began leaping out of the water which was just awesome to watch! After viewing these animal for some time it was decided to do a circle to see if we could see some other animals. And after only a short search a minke whale literally lunged up in front of us, taking a huge mouthful of water and krill (unfortunately, many of our passengers missed this as it was so sudden) however, this minke did surface again before going for a deep dive. What a wonderful morning!
