Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We were in quite the ride this morning, with rough swell that made sure to train our sea legs ! We left promptly in quite large swell and explored Faxafloi until we saw a small pod of 6-8 white-beaked dolphins which were feeding in the immediate area.  People were able to get some good photographs. The mountains were framed beautifully by the clouds on the horizon and we saw several seabird species including the northern fulmar, northern gannets and a black guillemot.

Tour at 13:00

Report for Eldey: We made our way out into Faxaflói bay and searched for about 1 hour until we saw a blow on the horizon. When we approached slowly we saw a small Humpback whale diving for food repeatedly. It was less than 10m long and surfaced close to our vessel several times over the course of half an hour. People were able to get some good photographs.  As the other three whale watching boats approached we left to spare the humpback from too much stress. On our journey home some distant sightings of a couple of white beaked dolphins were seen and the weather changed to snow.  The return trip was very smooth.
