Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: This afternoon proved more exciting than our previous tour, with a fairly similar weather, but more wildlife. Quickly we saw in the distance flocks of hundreds of birds, giving us the signal that there was food in the area. We found ourselves surrounded by northern fulmars, black-legged kittiwakes and diving gannets ! And in the middle of this frenzy were the clumsy puffins, running away form the boats in the most comical fashion. Then surfaced in front of us a large minke whale, that approached us closer and closer, allowing us clear sightings, before going down for a deeper dive and resurfacing twice further away before vanishing. After that, our exploration resulted in more fruitful birdwatching and an easy way back to the harbour with the wind in our back.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We departure from the old harbour of Reykjavik surrounded by mystery as long as the weather this morning seemed to be a little bit grayish and cloudy. Nonetheless, we went into the unknown and at certain moments we were encircled by a leaden sky, making us feeling alone in the big sea. Even so, some of the most extraordinaire seabirds offered us few good sightings, especially puffins which are coming in big numbers, ready for the breeding season. It has been also remarkable the presence of arctic skuas and northern gannets. In our way back to the harbour, we enjoyed a smooth trip as long as we were traveling in the direction of the waves and we were lucky to spot two elusive harbour porpoises, surfacing in perfect synchrony. But it was not enough of sighting and due to the lack of cetaceans during this tour we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers.  Nonetheless we had a good taste of Iceland in a cloudy but calm morning.
