Tour status 13:00:

Report from Eldey: The weather was better than in the morning, the sun showed a bit inbetween the clouds. But even though there where many bird flying around the boat, we where not lucky with the cetaceans. Only one time the harbour porpoises came up to the boat really quickly. But still we got to enjoy the sun and we all got a lot of fresh air. In the end everybody got a complimentray ticket so they could all go again for free on an other tour so they can see whales.

Tour at 10:00

Report from Hafsulan: This tour was fun for everyone who likes sailing with some waves and a fresh breeze in the face, enjoying the view at the beautiful landscape surrounding us. Unfortunately, the whales and dolphins were very elusive this morning, so that we did not manage to find the animals during this tour. So we handed out complimentary tickets to all our passengers to give them the chance to join us on another tour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Cold winds coming from the north were gusting in our faces and we had swell. Nonetheless we had quite a tour! We spotted a minke whale from a good 1km distance and once we got into the area where we had seen it, we found ourselves surrounded by birds and had minke whales in all directons. After only a short time we had already spotted 4 and got a good look at 2 of them, surfacing close by several times. But we also kept seeing a blow that was unlike that of a minke whale - and sure enough, after a thorough search we found a humpback whale as well as 2 more minke whales! The humpback even did a timelapsed dive, showing everyone watching it's fluke.  If that wasn't worth standing outside in the wind for, I don't know what would be.

Bird seen today: atlantic puffin, common guillemot, black guillemot, arctic skua,  northern fulmar, northern gannet, black backed gull, glaucous gull, arctic tern, eider duck.
