Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: Conditions were still rough out in the bay. High waves sure made the ride adventurous. After an hours ride, we came into an area with many northern gannets feeding. It was great to see this show of them diving into the water. We stayed in this area for a long time as gannets are normally associated with cetaceans. We did see a minke whale surface 3 times, but it was hard to spot as it moved very fast. We also saw a solitary white-beaked dolphin that was leaping through the waves and later even did half spins in the air. But as this was only when we were leaving, it was over 500m away. The weather worsened, with fog forming and spotting became more difficult. We did have 3 harbour porpoises around us for a minute as well, making it 3 species on this trip, but none were long encounters. So of course we offered everyone a complimentary ticket to come out with us again to show them a bit more of our beautiful marine life.

Tour at 14:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This afternoon the wind was quite a bitter pill to swallow, but some of the passengers enjoyed the waves that made the boat roll a bit like it belonged in a theme park. Just over an hour after leaving port we spotted our first animals - a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins. While not keen on spending very much time with us they came very close to investigate and swam under the boat several times. After lurking around the area for a good amount of time we decided to turn back, albeit slowly. Our snail pace rewarded us with the sight of 2 minke whales that were feeding in the area near some plunge-diving gannets. Once again the whales did not stick around long, but we all got a pretty good view of them.

Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up but the waves were a bit better. It took us a bit of time before spotting our first cetaceans. But then we saw two white-beaked dolphins, they where a bit difficult to follow. But while watching them a minke whale showed up between them. This was a really nice minke whale he came really close to us and showed himself very nicely. On the way back an other pod of 4-5 white beaked dolphins and they where jumping! What a show and how nice to see. When we where close to the harbour again 2-3 white-beaked dolphins came up next to the boat. What a nice tour.

Tour at 10:00

Report from Hafsulan: Today the weather was not at it´s best, we had a bit of rain and it was a wee bit swelly. However, this did not mean that we didn´t have a great tour! The first species we encountered was the marvelous minke whale, this animal surfaced many time coming up all around the boat, it was then joined by another individual which popped up on the other side of our vessel, allowing everyone a really good view of it. After some time viewing these delightful animals we headed out further into the bay and found ourselves some white-beaked dolphins! These animals were a bit elusive to start off with but they seemed to change their behaviour and decided to come check us out instead. As we slowly made our way back to harbour another two minke whales popped up to join the party. What a delightful tour!

Tour at 9.00

Report from Eldey: It was dry but overcast and the waves were high. But we had the overalls to keep us warm. It took us a lot of time before we spotted a cetaceans. It was a single white-beaked dolphin, we only saw him two times coming up. The way back the waves got better, so that was nice. At the end of the tour we gave everybody a complementary ticket so they can come with us again for free. The tickets a varioloid for two years.
