Report from Eldey: Although the sky was overcast, the winds had calmed down making the ride much smoother than in the earlier tours. We sailed out into the direction where we had had an encounter during our previous trip but this individual seemed to have moved on. Instead, not too far away from that area, we encountered a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins! They were milling, so all moving in unison and in a very slow pace. This was great, as it was very easy for everyone to watch them and to take photos. As we were already on our way back to the old harbour, we were surprised by a second pod of white-beaked dolphins made up of at least 5 individuals. Unlike the pod before, these dolphins were traveiing at a much faster speed. It was great when they decided to come very close to the boat, even diving underneath it, going from side to side. It is always an indescribable feeling when these beautiful animals come so close to you. It just leaves a smile on your face!

Report from Eldey: Our afternoon trip has been a little bit special because we conducted a bilingual tour, Spanish and English were our languages for today because we had a huge representation from this country. It seemed that this combination brought us a lot of luck. We though that sea was going to be extremely rough but the wisdom and knowledge of our captain and the break that the weather gave us offered us the best conditions for whale watching. After leaving the harbour we found a small harbour porpoise crossing by next to our boat and it wasn´t the only one, more than 6 were seen during the tour, an amazing creature. But Faxafloi had more for us, we had the nicer encounter ever with a huge minke whale, it was surfacing really close to us for more than half an hour giving us nice moment to photograph. To sum up, we had a wonderful afternoon trip in Reykjavik.

Report from Eldey: Welcome to Iceland - it was windy and rainy during this tour. Waves were choppy which made spotting conditions tough. We did get to see a pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins for a few surfaces, in an area with numerous northern gannets feeding. Once two of them had disappeared we still saw one dolphins jumping out of the water 4 times, obviously using the waves to propeller himself forward faster. But as this was our only sighting of the tour, of course everyone was offered a complimentary ticket to come out with us again and have another chance at seeing some whales and dolphins.
